Summary
Our client is the largest electric utility company in Malaysia with core business activities are in generation, transmission and distribution of electricity.
We are tasked to collect their assets that consists of substations, overhead and underground conductors, and all customers in Peninsular Malaysia.
This information will then be digitized, structured, validated and combined with more than 100 data sources from inside and outside of the organization in an advanced data ecosystem. The data validation requires solid understanding of multiple forms of GPS technologies, eliminates risk and delivers accurate, data enriched “smart maps”.
Challenges
One of the most essential key success factors in asset inventory and knowledge is to ensure that it is recorded accurately with data enriched “smart maps”.
However, until recently asset inventory and data that was collected were quite static, manually processed and made from historical statistics and experience. Our client wanted to become more data-driven and forward-looking.
Solutions
Tresdata is tasked to assist the company assess, collect, analyze, digitize and develop an advanced data ecosystem and geo-analytics followed by the process “From data collection, geo-mapping to decision making”.
Tresdata innovation has been building network models for utilities. This powerful tool can reflect the flow of energy (i.e electricity, water) in your system to make smarter decisions during planned and unplanned outages.
A network model is used to identify problem areas or isolate a part of your system that is going to be repaired or maintained. This network model can also identify who and what is affected by a stuck valve or down line.
