GIS ANALYST

Roles & Responsibilities:

1) Compiling geographic information in the form of satellite images, geographical surveys, and aerial photographs.
2) Researching and verifying geographic data (Quality Check).
3) Entering new data into the GIS database.
4) Ensuring maps are annotated and compiled with the correct information.
5) Compiling reports using all available GIS and GPS data sources.
6) Maintaining the GIS database and troubleshooting data issues.
7) Assist R&D for new map development.
8) Perform special / customized project.
9) Fieldwork data preparation
10) Aerial Photo Processing
11) Analyze and model relationships between geographic data sets requirement

Experience & Knowledge :

1) Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying, Engineering or related field.
2) Knowledge in database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
3) Have knowledge in topology, spatial data & geoprocessing tools
4) Strong understanding with coordinate system in Malaysia
5) Able to operate one or more software below:

• Quantum GIS (QGIS)
• ArcMap or ArcGIS
• AutoCAD
• Global Mapper
• MapInfo
• PostgreSQL
• ENVI
• ERDAS
